Citizens Patrol Academy
The Citizen’s Police Academy is part of a continuing program to develop citizen awareness and understanding of the role of law enforcement. The Citizen’s Police Academy is designed for citizens of all backgrounds and occupations. Upon completion of the course Academy graduates will be better-informed citizens with a new outlook on law enforcement and the Cheyenne Police Department. The Academy program consists of approximately 30 hours of classroom and hands-on activities. Topics include: the selection process, training, job of the uniformed patrol officer, investigations, special operations, special units, use of firearms, narcotics, communications, and many others.
Participants will be actively involved in interesting activities such as using police equipment, shooting department weapons, touring the police facility and role-playing scenarios. Participants must have zero felony convictions or been convicted of any family violence offenses, must be 18 years of age, and willing to attend at least 9 of 11 sessions

Graffiti Task Force
To report graffiti please call 307-638-TIPS (8477) or you can text the information to 307-287-3713. People can also call the We Tip National Hotline at 800-78-CRIME or dial 911 if you witness a graffiti incident.
Residents whose private property has been vandalized by graffiti may obtain a voucher after reporting the issue to law enforcement. Vouchers may be picked up by City and County residents at the Cheyenne Police Department Victims Assistance Office, which is located at 2020 Capitol Avenue. The vouchers can be used at any participating retail outlet to obtain graffiti block out or removal kit.
